Live Event Filming
Challenge on Dementia 2020: Putting Words Into Action, the second UCLPartners dementia conference, was held on 10 March 2016.
One year after the publication of the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia 2020, health and social care staff from around London came together to discuss the ambitions of the challenge and what has been achieved so far in London.
The purpose of this video was to show the highlights from the day including speakers and exhibits as well as extra interviews with presenters Alistair Burns, National Clinical Director for Dementia, NHS England; Piers Kotting, Programme Director for Join Dementia Research at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR); and Wendy Mitchell, whose personal story of living with dementia resonated with delegates.
Shoot and edit
We shot the highlights of this event using two cameras with operators and a GoPro on an extension pole for high level shots. We recorded on stage sound using a feed the venue's sound desk. We carried out short interviews during the breaks with the key speakers.
The conference took place over a full day with speakers and a variety of activities. In order to edit a comprehensive 7 minute video we liased with the organisers before the event to identify the key messages they wanted people to take away from the day.
Tech and spec
The video is presented on the UCLPartners YouTube channel and Podcats supplied full HD broadcast quality files for them to use at conferences in the future.
